Canine Good Citizen Certification Class
This class is designed for older puppies and young adult dogs between 8 and 24 months that have had an intermediate level of training experience. Dogs older than 24 months may also join the class after an initial consultation to assess their skill level. This is a challenging 6-week class focusing on basic obedience and will wrap up with the AKC, CGC (Canine Good Citizen) certification test. In this class we will spend much more time working on building more reliable skills. The Advanced Obedience class is meant to solidify your education in the science of canine behavior and set you up for the peaceful and enjoyable relationship you want with your best furry friend. After this class you will be able to take your dog out in public and have confidence that your dog will be the best behaved.

Be sure you have success with the skills that are most important, with and without distractions. We will also do extensive, and more advanced, attention and focus exercises, develop a great “recall” from a distance, with planned distractions, and achieve phenomenal impulse control. This class will focus much more attention on advanced obedience, and achieve a reliable “sit” and “down stay” with other dogs in the room.
Distractions in class will make training at home much easier. We will also spend time in public places working on “meeting and greeting” the public and walking politely (without pulling or jumping) while on leash and “sitting politely” for petting. This is a great class that you and your dog will enjoy immensely.
Dogs must be current on all vaccinations to attend. Given over a six-week time span in 1-hour-long sessions. (Discounts given to shelter dogs and rescues).
